Starting from school year 2003, Merit Chinese School
has started implementing the Youth Development
Program. It is based on the belief that every young
person has the potential to become a leader, but
this potential needs to be developed. The program is
working for developing one' s potential through
practical experience.
Highlights of Merit's Youth Development Program:
1. Youth Volunteers Program in the school.
Students volunteer their time as teacher assistants
and game leaders. They also help in community and
charity activities.
2. Toastmaster Program (Gavel Club) It is an 8 weeks Youth Development Program
organized by the Gavel Club. Students
learn basic concepts of Toastmaster and increase
their self-confidence as they learn. They also make
new friends and have fun, verifying the fact that
Toastmasters is an enjoying learning experience.
